Shanina: Neither do I! Let's just try and follow the other teams. I don't know if they'll hate us though.
Rhys: Sorry that we don't play freakin' Nintendo, then! We are such outdoors people.

Rhys: As models we are fairly well-travelled, so that's going to help us in some cultural situations. Especially cities.
Shanina: Rhys and I haven't been reading a whole lot though. *laughs* I hope our empty noggins won't cost us in any challenges!
Shanina: Look, Rhys! Those Chinese girls snagged the clue with that logo over there.
Rhys: Shaz! There's one more of that on the wall, over there. *points*
Shanina: Shh! Not so loud! *runs towards the wall*
Ray: Sorry guys! *snatches the tile before Rhys and Shanina can reach it*
Rhys: *loudly* Damnit! *kicks the wall*
Shanina: Don't get so wound up! You'll rile the other teams.
Rhys: *grits teeth* We almost had it.
Shanina: We'll find another one. There's 9 more plates.
Rhys: *takes deep breaths to calm himself down* I don't want to go home on the first task.
Shanina: Neither do I. But we'll be fine. Now we gotta find that tile.
Rhys: Where is it... where is it... Aha! *spots the correct tile, leaps towards the tile and grabs it*
Shanina: GOOD JOB Rhys! There you go, that wasn't so hard after all was it?
Rhys: *hands the tile over to Phil* Come on, Phil, give us some good news.
Phil: Rhys & Shanina, you're the 5th team on the first flight!
Shanina: Yesss! *does a litle jig*
Rhys: Better than nothing, eh? *kisses Shanina*
Shanina: Fly to OSAKA JAPAN! EEEEEEEEE! BABE WE'RE GOING TO JAPAN!
Rhys: That's cool. *smiles and continues reading clue as Shanina continues bouncing* Once you land, make your way to the Instant Ramen Tunnel.
Shanina: JAPAAAAAAAN! Let's go let's go let's go!
Rhys: *grins* Psyched, huh?
Shanina: Definitely! This race is going to be soy fun!
*after the KAL flight has landed in Osaka Kansai, and teams take the subway together to the Instant Ramen Museum*
Shanina: *while reading a map* That was soy fun! We got to talk to the other teams, and they seem like great people.
Rhys: Yeah, babe. I'm a little jet-lagged, but I'm loving Japan so much. It's so clean and hi-tech... Maybe I could snag a new MP3 player on the way.
Shanina: *finishes reading map and points* Museum's this way, Rhys!
Rhys: *as he and Shanina reach the gates of the museum* Hours of Operation! Oh, geez.
Shanina: Well, at least we're first! *scribbles her team name on the sign-up sheet*
Rhys: You done, girl? Now let's get out and explore this town!
*the next day*
Shanina: That was amayzing. Oh, I had so much to eat! We're going to be fat now Rhys.
Rhys: Somehow with all the running I don't think it'll be a problem. *glances at watch* Aaand we're in!
Shanina: *tears clue open and reads it* Roadblock. Who wants to take a break from the fast lane? I do, I want to stop running for a while! Gosh!
Rhys: Go for it Shaz! Good luck!
Shanina: Thanks babe. *gives Rhys a quick peck on the cheek*
Rhys: *grins as Shanina runs to complete the task* Shaz is such a dynamo. I love it.

  ROAD BLOCK
Who wants to take a break from the fast lane?
In this Roadblock, one team member must now recreate the instant noodles the way Momofuku Ando created his first instant noodle. The team member must run to the museum’s kitchen, get the ingredients in making the noodles and the broth. Once teams have obtained the items, they must then make their own instant noodles – from the noodles to its outer casing design. They will be given a wide variety of flavors and condiments to choose from to invent their noodle. Once they have completed their noodles, they must present it to the chef for judging. If the chef likes the flavor they have created, they will receive their next clue. However, if the chef dislikes their flavor, they will be given a choice of taking a 20 minute penalty or preparing the noodles again.
ROADBLOCK 1.
TYPE: 
TASK: You will now create your own instant noodle! Post in this thread the following:
1. The recipe of your instant noodle (no need for noodles, they are premade for you), complete with pictures and measurements of the condiments used. (FOR one cup of instant noodle only)
2. The design of your instant noodle’s outer casing or cup. Make it good!
STANDARD TIME: 30 minutes I will only grade it as a YES OR NO.

If you answer the questions wrong, you will incur a lost zone penalty. The penalty for commuting is 5 minutes. Each blank corresponds to five minutes.

Shanina: Oh look, instant ramen! That stuff is a lifesaver when I was living on my own and couldn't cook. After the oil is thoroughly soaked out, of course - if not, it's not good on the figure! Hmm, let's see... I do like Thai food, and they have noodle dishes... Let's call this the Thai Surprise Ramen! Ingredients: Ground white pepper, one tablespoon  Salt, 2 teaspoons  Canola oil, 3 teaspoons  Tiger prawns, 2 pieces  Squid rings, a small handful  Thick lemongrass, whole but with cuts, 5-6 stalks  Chillis, roughly sliced, 4-5 pieces  Galangal, finely sliced, half a root  Kaffir lime leaves, a handful, finely chopped  Fresh coriander, 3-4 sprigs  Oyster mushrooms, a small handful  Fish sauce, a small bowl  Recipe: 1) Bring a small pot of water with chilli, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal to slow boil. 2) Add prawns and squid rings after mixture has simmered for 5 minutes. 3) Continue simmering for another 3 minutes and add fish stock and oil to taste. 4) Simmer for 3 more minutes and leave to stand. 5) Cook ramen noodles and oyster mushrooms in boiling water separately with canola oil and salt to taste. 6) Drain noodles and mushrooms, pour tom yam stock over noodles and mushrooms, then add in pepper, coriander and finely chopped chilli to taste.
