DONNA'S ROADBLOCK: CARROTS:SLICE --- Cut, usually with a knife, into thinner pieces, usually in one way (e.g. horizontally). JULIENNE --- Cut into sticks (e.g. carrot sticks), also commonly used with a knife. CUBES --- Again, in knife, cut into cubed shapes. MINCE --- Somewhat mashed (with knife or masher). DICE --- Like cubes, just a lot smaller. Can be made after julienne-ing the carrots. You roll cut the julienne carrots to get diced carrots. GROUND/GRIND --- Like mincing, but less mashed. PEEL --- Basically, peeling, you used a peeler to rub the carrot off to peel it. GRATE --- Like grinding & mincing, but less mashed.

Cube: To cut into cube-shaped chunks. Mince: cut into really tiny pieces. Dice: cut into pieces bigger than mincing yet smaller than cubing. Ground/grind: to pound stuff like spices into very fine, small pieces. Peel: you remove the skin of a fruit such as a banana, sometimes by hand, sometimes by knife. Grate: To make something small even smaller by mashing or pulverizing it. And here are the pictures: Belle Book
