In this Detour, teams will now have to do two activities commonly done in the area of the Galapagos, Carried Across Ground, or Buried Deep Down.

In Carried Across Ground, teams will have to persuade a sea lion to flipper along a marked path 250 yards away to their next clue. However, teams may only use what items are naturally available at the beach. So if teams are not resourceful and do get a disobedient sea lion, they can get stuck for a long time.

DETOUR: In Carried Across Ground, you'll simply have to input the right actions in #2, with ONE PM to me, in order for your sea lion to move 250 yards to your next clue. BUT, here's the catch:

1) You'll have to post: *Release Sea Lion (1- 10)!*
Each Sea Lion has a different character. They can be either Playful, Bashful, Serious, Sly or Obedient. Getting the obedient is the ideal, while getting the sly is the worst possible thing.

Obedient = + 0 minutes to total time
Playful = + 2 minutes to total time
Serious = + 3 minutes to total time
Bashful = + 5 minutes to total time
Sly = + 7 minutes to total time

2) Each Sea Lion has a STAMINA of 100. By doing the following actions, you will see the equivalent stamina loss of the sea lion, the distance, and the time it will take for it to travel the distance.

Note that if the stamina reaches zero, the Sea Lion will faint and have to rest for an extra 10 minutes before continuing.

*Call sea lion to your position!* (- 8 STAMINA / + 10 yards / + 2 minutes)
*Throw ball for sea lion to get!* (- 12 STAMINA/ + 15 yards/ + 3 minutes)
*Throw fish for sea lion to eat!* (- 15 STAMINA/ + 20 yards/ + 2 minutes)
*Make sea lion noise!* (- 20 STAMINA/ + 25 yards/ + 3 minutes)
*Push sea lion!* (- 30 STAMINA/ + 30 yards/ + 2 minutes)
*Pull sea lion!* (- 40 STAMINA/ + 40 yards/ + 1 minute)
*Feed sea lion!* (+ 20 STAMINA/ + 0 yards/ + 1 minute)
*Let sea lion rest!* (+ 100 STAMINA/ + 0 yards/ + 5 minutes)

You may only submit once. If you have less than 250 yards, I shall continue the trend however using the slowest possible method possible.

TOTAL TIME = SUM of PM'ed actions from 2 + Sea Lion's Characteristic + Traits

TRAITS:
Sly = - 2 minutes
Dense = + 5 minutes
Strong Stomachs = - 3 minutes
Playful Minds = + 6 minutes

3) Once you have submitted your PM, post:
a. *Run to boats and sail to pit stop!* (+ 17 minutes)
b. *Walk to mat and check in!* (Post remaining money)

In Buried Deep Down, teams will have to ride a motorboat to a marked buoy, and each team member must dive down around 20 meters to retrieve one half of a map that will lead them to the next pit stop.

<1000 = + 15 minutes
1000 =< 20000 = + 13 minutes
20000 =< 45000 = + 11 minutes
45000 =< 70000 = + 9 minutes
70000 =< 100000 = + 7 minutes
100000 < = + 5 minutes

Strong Hearted = - 2 minutes
Weak Willed = + 5 minutes
Technician = -2 minutes
Truant = + 5 minutes
Strong Stomachs = - 3 minutes
Playful Minds = + 6 minutes
Globetrotter = - 1 minute
Stray = + 3 minutes

Once teams have been able to retrieve their maps, they will have to use the motorboats and find the rock formation called Leon Dormido, the third pit stop of the race. Phil will be waiting inside a yacht in order to check them in.
