Miraculously, Shelley also revived a few years later, but she couldn't remember any of her old life. The doctors at the hospital reunited her with her brother, whom she didn't recognize. They are running the race with the hope that it will rekindle the relationship they once had.

I am on the Starting Line of the race, Independence Hall. All teams are being transported by a speta bus taking the teams to the Starting Line.

Phil: Can these teams stand up to the stress and each other while in a race around the world for 1 million dollars? Which team will have the right combination of mental strength, physical power, strategic minds and teamwork co-operation to win the prize? These are the questions ready to be answered as we begin Zachary’s the Amazing Race 2.



Phil: In just a few minutes you'll embark on a race around the world. The race is divided into 12 legs, 3 of which are elimination points. At the end of each leg, there is a Pit Stop. You must hurry to the Pit Stop because the last team to arrive, will be eliminated. In the end, the team that crosses the Finish Line first...will win Two Million Dollors...Also, here, I am warning to you guys to expect the unexpected...

Phil: All teams are now on one of two flights to Mexico City. The first carries 7 teams, the last flight carries 5.

Phil: Teams are now flying to Mexico City, a 2000 mile journey in two separate flights. Mexico City is also the Federal District. It is one of the major political, economic, cultural and financial centers of the country and a global city in Latin America. This is the first stop for the Amazing Race season 2. When they get here they must find The Angel of Independence. This was built to commemorate the centennial of the beginning of Mexico's War of Independence, celebrated in 1910. This is where teams find their next clue.

Phil: A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour, teams have to choose between two common sports in Mexico. Their choice: Fight A Man or Fight The Bull,

In Fight A Bull teams must go to Plaza México and participate in bullfighting and they must grab a bull by their horn and the bull will run and yes, they must wear costumes, and if the bull aims for the red towel they will win their clue.

In Fight A Man teams participate in Lucha Libre and play against a professoinal, if they win they will be handed their next clue.

It has been a special place for Mexicans throughout Mexican history, and it was on this hill that the Aztecs made a temporary home after arriving from northern Mexico in the 1200s. This is where they'll find their next clue...and a shocking twist.

Phil: Teams must take a taxi to Lake Xochimilco, an ancient endorheic lake located in the Valley of Mexico. It's part of a series of lakes, which included the brackish Lake Texcoco, Lake Zumpango, and Lake Xaltocan and the fresh water Lake Chalco. These lakes were the home of many Mesoamerican cultures, including the Teotihuacanos, the Toltecs, and the Aztecs. This is where teams will find their next clue.

Phil: Teams must take a bus to Cancun, a coastal city in the tourist destination called The Mexican Caribbean, i.e., the state of Quintana Roo, on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It is a popular vacation spot on the Caribbean coast. Then they will have to find their marked jeeps and drive to Xcaret. Xcaret is an Eco-archaeological Park located about 46 mi south of Cancun and less than 4 mi south of Playa del Carmen, in the Riviera Maya. Here you can admire tropical flora and fauna typical of the region as well as different expressions of the Mayan culture. In its facilities you can find an archaeological site, snorkeling in underground rivers, a beach, a butterfly pavilion, an orchid greenhouse, a regional fauna breeding farm, a Mayan village, and a jaguar island, among others. When they get there they have take a boat to Jaguar Island, the Pit Stop for this leg of the Race. The last team to check in here may be eliminated.

ZBC Amazing Race Fanfic

Phil: This show was recorded in December, before the floods of January. Our prayers are with the people of Peru as they recover from the floods.

January 2010 evacuation
In January 2010 heavy rain caused flooding which buried or washed away roads and railways leading to Machu Picchu, trapping over 2,000 tourists there. They have since been evacuated, as were about 2,000 locals. Machu Picchu was temporarily closed, but it reopened on February 28, 2010. Peru's rail crew has been hard at work since then, and because of their hard work, Peru's government estimates that Machu Picchu will reopen to tourists April 1, 2010.
Phil: Previously on the Amazing Race 12 teams flew to Mexico City. Teams battle not to be last at the airport. James and Will made an allaince and they chose to Yield David and Josh. Teams continue their adventures as they had to do a dangerous Detour and then they had check in a park which determined what time they left. However, there was a twist as one team would be eliminated -- and that was Tonya & Lisa. Then the teams had to make their way to a lake where they had paint a boat, put in the lake and boat to the green and black flags in lake. Then they had to take a bus to Cancun. Zachary and Kaye were the only team to get on the first bus and the rest got on a bus at 12:30. In a fight to the Pit Stop, Rob & Larry were eliminated. Ten teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Phil: Cancún is a coastal city in the tourist destination called The Mexican Caribbean, i.e., the state of Quintana Roo, on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It is a popular vacation spot on the Caribbean coast. Xcaret is an Eco-archaeological Park located about 46 mi south of Cancun and less than 4 mi south of Playa del Carmen, in the Riviera Maya. Here you can admire tropical flora and fauna typical of the region as well as different expressions of the Mayan culture. And inside the park was Jaguar Island. This was the first pitstop in a race around the world. Zachary & Kaye, who were the first to arrive at 11:55am, will depart at 11:55pm.

Phil: Teams now must drive themselves to Playa del Carmen, 36 miles away, then take a ferry to Cozumel island and reach Chankanaab National Park, the most popular attraction in Cozumel island. It's conveniently located just ten minutes taxi ride from the cruise ship terminal, and is a favorite for cruise ship passangers, day trippers, beach lovers and those who just enjoy the tranquility of a natural enviroment. It is here that teams will find their next clue.

Phil: La Isla Shopping Village is the largest shopping center in Cancun. It's like walking through a Mexican Caribbean Villa, highlighted by a picturesque man-made river lined on both sides with more than 150 shops offering a variety of products. This were they will find there next clue and a new twist -- the Traffic Light. There are three colors in the Traffic Light -- red, yellow and green. A team who gets hit with a Traffic Light must pull a latch which randomly picks a color. If the light turns green, the team that was hit with the Traffic Light is free to go. If the light turns yellow, the other team must wait 25 minutes till the light turns green. If the light turns red, the other team must wait 60 minutes before the light turns green.

Jean: Let's head back to the ferry terminal.
Jessica: What new twist could this be?
Jean: It can't be a Switchback.
Jessica: No, they already had it on The Amazing Race.
Jean: I hope we don't have to face it.

Phil: This is the first of four Traffic Lights on the Amazing Race. A team can use it on any team behind them. If a team chooses to use the Traffic Light, they put up a picture of the team they want to use it on while the other team has to pull a latch. If the light turns any color other than green, the other team must wait a predestined amount of time before the light turns green and they can continue on.
Sarah: We choose not to use the Traffic Light.
Michael: Drive yourselve to the Hidden Worlds Cenote Adventure Park.


Phil: Teams must drive themselves to the Hidden Worlds Cenotes Adventure Park. Situated on the most extensive system of underwater caves and caverns on Earth, the park is home to some of the most stunningly beautiful cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula, as featured in the critically acclaimed 2001 IMAX movie, Journey Into Amazing Caves; the 2005 Hollywood movie The Cave and the award winning 2007 BBC Planet Earth television series. This is where teams will find their next clue.

Phil: This is the first of five Fast-Forwards in the Race. Teams can use the Fast-Forward to skip all tasks and go directly to the Pit Stop. But teams can only use it once so they must decide when it's advantageous to go for it. In this Fast-Forward teams go to Tequila Rock. Both team members must drink one shot of tequila. If they're the first to do so they win the Fast-Forward.

Phil: Teams must now fly to Cusco, a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. The city has a population of 358,935 which is triple the figure of 20 years ago. When they get there they must travel by taxi to Huambutio and find a gorge. Teams must take a zip line across the gorge, then take another zip line to the bottom, where they will find their next clue.

Zachary: I think there must be another twist in this case.
Kaye: It could be a Switchback Detour.
Zachary: I hate animals. Anyway, let's go, buddy.

Phil: Teams are going back to season 7 with another twist: the Switchback Detour, revisiting a famous Detour form a previous season. In this Switchback Detour of the race, teams choose between Rope a Llama or Rope a Basket. In Rope a Llama, teams had to lead llamas to a pen not far off. Once they had two llamas in their pen, the herder would give them their next clue. In Rope a Basket, teams had to put on hats and capes, tie and carry a basket of alfalfa weighing 35 pounds (16 kg) two-thirds of a mile to the store called Tienda Victoria Valdivia. Once there teams would receive their next clue.
Josh: What time is it? 9:45.
David: Let's choose Rope a Llama. It'll be okay for time.
Josh: I hate Lima.
David: Deal with it.

Phil: Teams must travel by train to Machu Picchu. They will have go to Poroy Station and take the train there. When they arrive they will have to find the Sun Gate. This is the Pit Stop for this leg of the Race. The last team to check in here may be eliminated.

David: Let's get down here.
