Hi everybody! After my first outing with the prediction game, I present you with newly improved questions for Leg 5. Even if you would not like to answer the questions now, please scroll down to the bottom to view the twist for this leg and the instructions. Part 1: Arrange the teams' placement order (3% per correct position; max 24%) Part 2: Multiple Choice (4% each; max 20%)2a. How many of the following forms of transportation do we see in this episode: airplane, bus, rail (includes metro/regional rail/high speed rail), self-driving, and taxi. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 2b. In how many groups do the teams arrive in France? For instance, in the last episode, teams arrived in Germany in 3 groups: Jet/Cord/Mike/Louie, Carol/Brandy/Dan/Jordan, and everybody else. (1, 2, 3, 4, more than 4) 2c. Choose the French city that is located closest to the Pit Stop; distances will be calculated using Google Maps. (Lille, Paris, Reims, Metz, Strasbourg) 2d. What is the prize for this leg? (Something from Travelocity, a vehicle/watercraft, a gift card/hard cash, a item for the house such as a sauna, None of the above) 2e. What task(s) is (are) the fighter planes in the preview part of? (Roadblock, Detour, Speedbump, General Task, Two or more of the above) Part 3: Free Response (26%)3a. Who says the title? (10% for correct person or 5% for correct team) 3b. List all of the following tasks that are related to World War I: Detour, Roadblock, Fast Forward, General Task. (6%) Partial credit will be awarded. For every excess choice you choose, you will be penalized 2% (you can't go below 0 however). 3c. Which team uses the U-turn (5%), and on whom (5%)? You may answer no one uses the u-turn. Part 4: Detour (30%)The detour for this round is a choice between Words and Numbers. Each question per set is worth 6%. In Words, teams answer set A. All answers are in words only. A1. Which team will improve the most in position for this leg? You need only choose one if there are multiple. A2. Likewise, which team will drop the most in position? You need only choose one if there are multiple. A3. Which team is the first to say the word "war" in the episode? A4. Name one team that receives a penalty. You may put down no one. A5. Name one team that finishes in the same position as Leg 4. You may put down no one. In Numbers, teams answer Set B. All answers are in numbers only. B1. How many positions does the team with the most improvement rise? Example: Had this question appeared in Leg 4, the answer would be 7; Louie/Mike rose from 8th to 1st. B2. Likewise, how many positions does the team with the most decrease drop? B3. How many minutes separate Louie/Mike and Jeff/Jordan's departure times? You must be accurate within 30 minutes to receive credit. Answer 0 if no departure times are given. B4. How many teams receive a penalty? B5. What place are Jeff/Jordan in when they have to complete their speedbump? Part 5: Blind U-turn (Special Route Marker)! All participants now have the option of sending me a PM that they want to U-turn another player. Here's how it works. If an odd number of people U-turn a player, then that player must complete BOTH set of questions in the detour. Each question per set then becomes only worth 3%. Deadline to U-turn: Friday, 6:00 P.M. PST Total: 100% My choices to come later this weekend.
